The road safety website www.arrivealive.co.za was developed as a public-private partnership to enhance awareness of road safety via the internet. The disclaimer on the Arrive Alive website specifies that the objective with the development is to compliment efforts of the Ministry of Transport, the Arrive Alive Campaign as well as several international institutions who have contributed to road safety.

The website was placed online on the 14th of March 2003. The Developer Adv Johan Jonck lost a parent in a vehicle accident and envisaged that the internet can play an important role in creating awareness of road safety. Accident Statistics is provided by the Department of Transport of South Africa and the Road Traffic Management Corporation. Interactive sections on the website include a section on Reporting of Bad Driving.

The public can register online as Voluntary Public Traffic Observers and submit reports on bad driving. These Reports are then processed by the National Traffic Call Centre. Information from the Arrive Alive website has enabled the wider distribution of road safety information to other media such as television, radio, magazines, newspapers and other online media. A monthly newsletter provides insight on new sections of content and information requests from the public.

Development of the site was made possible with sponsorship from Digicore, Outsurance, Volkswagen, Netcare911, Clear Vision Optometrists and Precision Safety Appliances.
