Alternative Investment Management Association
AIMA is a global, not-for-profit organization that was set up in 1990 to represent the global alternative investment management industry. AIMA's member companies come from 46 different countries across all continents.
Here in South Africa, there is a Chapter of AIMA for the local alternative investment community with its own elected Board. There are currently 37 members.
Members of the Board are employed in all areas of the industry, including fund management, third party administration, prime brokerage, legal advice and accountancy.
After having worked closely with the ASISA Hedge Fund Standing Committee during 2009, the Board of the South African extension of the London-based Alternative Investment Management Association (AIMA) decided early February 2010 to resign and join forces with ASISA. The former Board members have joined ASISA’s Hedge Fund Standing Committee to continue their work as one group. |
