Quindiem Consulting is a South African-based actuarial consulting firm, consulting to the country’s leading long-term and short-term insurers, the insurance regulator and clients requiring custom developed actuarial solutions. Quindiem's consulting actuaries have extensive experience in the reinsurance industry, and are ideally positioned to provide product development and risk management advice on all aspects of insurance. They have also extended their application of actuarial skills outside of the traditional actuarial areas, by providing risk management solutions and advice to non-traditional clients such as property developers, housing associations, United Nation agencies and retailers. In November 2001 Quindiem entered into a strategic alliance with Ernst and Young to further integrate actuarial skills in the broader financial services arena.
The core philosophy is the creation of value for their clients and they therefore concentrate their work in areas of innovation and strategic consulting. Quindiem's consultants use a multi-disciplinary team approach; and this approach adds significant value to projects in which they are involved. In any project the client has access to the specialist knowledge of the whole Quindiem team. Quindiem have a disciplined approach to knowledge transfer and idea generation between team members that takes place at least one day every week, and it is from this “Fifth Day” or “Quin Diem” of the working week that Quindiem Consulting takes its name.
