Regent uses mobile vehicle inspection as further competitive advantage

With an already solid track record behind them Regent insurance are also implementing  a mobile pre-inspection by Asset Management Solutions (AMS) for new motor policies as part of their risk and competitive advantage strategy.

With this segment of motor insurance already highly competitive the AMS mobile pre-inspection is proving to be indispensible for two critical reasons. Firstly, the pre-inspection is absolutely essential at the initial take-on of the risk. In a market where underwriting profits can be thin at best neglecting any sort of pre-inspection at inception is something only the careless endorse. Secondly, and arguably even more important, doing this task mobile adds a critical element of convenience for their hard working, fast paced premium paying customers.

Andre Cloete, Actuarial manager for Regent insurance, explains. “The motor pre-inspection is an area, if managed effectively, has got great potential. Using a focused pre-inspection which offers our clients the convenience of a full mobile service anywhere is South Africa is something more and more consumers are expecting. Our focus on the risk management aspect at underwriting is certainly an area that eliminates extensive costs through the policy cycle”

Bernd Veening, CEO of AMS, adds “as one of the leaders in this market, Regent take their motor risk management very seriously. More importantly they are offering value added convenience, something all consumers appreciate. This service adds a level of competitiveness to a pool of consumers that is being aggressively marketed to by the industry.”

Considering the price sensitivity of this market segment it is a breath of fresh air to see Regent adding real convenience for hard strapped consumers.

As the largest independent surveying company in South Africa, AMS offers a full national service for all motor and non-motor policies.
