Brokers get new liability insurance query hotline

Company Listing: Camargue Academy »

There is enormous scope for Independent Intermediaries to grow their book of business by up-skilling themselves to be able to assist clients with liability coverages, which have in the past been seen to be the preserve of the so called “specialist” liability brokers, examples of which could include Broadform Liability, Employment Practices Liability, Directors and Officers Liability, Cyber Liability and Professional Indemnity.

In order to address this need, and in what is seen as an industry first, Camargue Underwriting Managers recently launched the Camargue Liability Academy for Brokers, or the Camargue LAB, as it is known. The purpose of the Academy is to raise standards and to ensure that clients are afforded with the best advice with regard to their liability exposures.

Says Mitch Marescia, Managing Director of Camargue Underwriting Managers, “We take corporate and social responsibility seriously and recognised, as a leading supplier in the liability insurance field, it is important for us to not only contribute to, but to play a leading role in developing the market.”

“We’ll be launching the new LAB website soon which promises intermediaries a host of new goodies”, adds Marescia.

In the meantime a facility exists whereby you can phone in with a liability insurance query and liability training courses are available.

Bounce a ball off the wall

"Is it covered?" Often clients sketch a scenario and then ask their broker if there would be cover. If you are unsure of the answer, or would simply like to double check your answer, you are welcome to call Camargue's Liability Academy for Brokers.

Regardless of whether your question is very complex or ridiculously simple, the Camargue LAB promises you a friendly and informative response. The Camargue LAB contact person is John Stebbing.

Liability Training

In addition to answering technical questions, the Camargue LAB also provides training on the following:

·         Fundamentals of law and liability insurance

·         The Consumer Protection Act

·         General Liability (the Broadform policy)

·         Products Liability, Products Inefficacy Liability and Products Recall

·         Employment Practices liability

·         Directors and Officers liability

·         Commercial Crime (and how it differs from Fidelity Guarantee insurance)

·         Cyber Risks

·         Professional Indemnity
